Dance Day 2021
Description
The Jeanine Larson Dobbins Conservatory of Theatre and Dance invites interested high school freshman, sophomores, juniors and graduating senior students to participate in Dance Day on Saturday, November 20, 2021. This is an opportunity for high school students to experience dance in a college environment. They will be exposed to a day devoted to dance where they will experience new movement and ideas, meet new people, witness creativity and learn why dance is a vital part of any education. We look forward to meeting and working with you during Dance Day!
Classes begin at 10am at the Southeast River Campus and are taught by the Conservatory of Theatre and Dance's professional dance faculty. You will have the opportunity to tour the River Campus, and speak with faculty and students. Attendees will also receive two complimentary tickets to the Fall for Dance 2021 concert at 7:30pm. Please call ahead prior to Dance Day to the box office at (573) 651-2265 to reserve your complimentary tickets.
High school seniors are invited to attend the Conservatory BA Dance Scholarship Auditions at 2pm. Scholarship auditions consist of one dance solo of the student's choosing; 90 seconds or less. The solo should show the dancer as a performer and should also show the dancer's personal style and strengths. Dancers must provide a CD recording or Ipod/Iphone containing ONLY the accompaniment for the solo. It is strongly suggested that you apply to the University prior to the audition.
